Myth or Magic: "Three Day Military Diet" Day 1

Ok so I am always one of the first people to say that all of these cleanses and crash diets are completely ridiculous.  However, I have never really taken the time to try any of them out (mostly because they are actually just starving you). So my friend sent me this 3 day "military diet" that she had heard of and after looking it over I decided it didn't seem to be anything that would harm my body or deprive it too much of nutrients.  I understand that this is not a real military diet and I am pretty positive that it will not make me lose ten pounds in 3 day, but hey why not give it a try??  So this diet claims that all of the food combinations if consumed properly without any extra additions will work together and help you lose weight. One of the first things I noticed was that ice cream was included in this diet....very strange. Anyway if you want to look it over here is the link 3 day Military Diet

I tracked my meals for the day and I will let you know in three days how this diet works out ;)

Day 1
Breakfast--1/2 Grapefruit, 1 Slice of Toast, 2 Tablespoons of Peanut Butter, and Coffee or Tea

Lunch--1/2 Cup of Tuna, 1 Slice of Toast, and Coffee or Tea (any brew, as long as it's caffeinated)

Dinner--3 ounces of any type of meat, 1 Cup of Green Beans, 1/2 Banana, 1 Small Apple, and 1 Cup of Vanilla Ice Cream (YUM)!!!

I ended up eating the fruit and ice-cream a little later for dessert

Myth or Magic DIY t-shirt

So today I spent my day trying out a couple DIY projects I saw on Pinterest. I combined two tutorials, one on cutting the shirt and one on using a technique of tie dying with alcohol and sharpies.
To start out you need to find a shirt you are willing to cut up. This is a men's under shirt that I had lying around. Don't mind the wrinkles.

What I did first was cut off the sleeves, the neckline and the bottom seam.

It should look something like this. You can play around with how thin you want the sleeves and such.

Next you simply  cut small strips of fabric along the bottom. This takes awhile and be careful to not accidentally cut off the strands as you work. You can cut them really long like me to make a cropped shirt or keep them short and have a longer shirt.

Once all the strips are cut. Pull them and stretch them out. You should also do this with the sleeve line and the neckline, to make the frayed edges disappear.

What I did next isn't mandatory, but I tied little knots at the end of each strain and then cut off the the extra fabric. It should look something like this.  If you wanted you could add beads to the strands before knotting them.

The next part of this tutorial is the sharpie tie dying. It was really easy and I love the way it turned out. You can really draw whatever you like, even just stripes and it will look cool. I decided to go with a diamond shape.

I created a stencil using the back of my sharpie packaging.

I stenciled on diamonds in different colors. Like I said you can have fun with this and do whatever shapes colors or patterns you want.

After that I took a little dropper that I got for $1 in the baby section at the grocery store and drop small splashes of rubbing alcohol on top of the marker lines.

After a few minutes you will see the ink starting to disperse. It is awesome!

There you have it the finished product! I love the way mine turned out and I am excited to try different patterns! This was definitely a Pinterest MAGIC.

Myth or Magic: Shaving with baby oil gel

Hello everybody! We have decided to start a new topic in which we pull things that we see from Pinterest and see if it actually works. We are calling it Myth or Magic! We will let you know if it is a complete fail or a magical idea that you must try immediately.

To start out I picked a Pin on shaving using baby oil gel instead of shaving cream.  This is the original pin Shaving Pin. I went to the store and bought this...

I decided to try it out twice before I let you know what I think. I was actually really impressed with how silky smooth my legs felt after using it! It is oil based, so it is kinda weird to use it in the shower.  The water will literally roll off of your legs.  However the baby oil gel really does lock in the moisture for a really long time.  Now on the Pin it says that you can go days without shaving and you won't feel the prickly hairs growing back...I haven't tested that theory, but if/when I do I will do an update and let you know.

So the question is Myth or Magic??? I am going to have to go with Magic on this one
